Paul Street student’s accommodation includes 419 student accommodation rooms and 43,000 sq ft of office space and replaced a derelict office building and former car park on Paul Street in Shoreditch.
Leader Systems New Build Installations designed and installed a comprehensive new Gent Vigilon fire detection and alarm system plus refuge, call systems and induction loops for the hard of hearing.
The Gent Vigilon Fire Alarm System
The Leader design and installed system incorporated 2 networked panels and a repeater panel and covered the development with 12 loops with approximately 1750 devices.
The feature-packed Vigilon analogue addressable fire detection and alarm system from Gent offers medium to large sized building owners the latest in system flexibility and control panel aesthetics.
Vigilon offers a degree of system sophistication that has not previously been available and incorporates a host of features designed to make it the simplest system to install, configure and use.
As well as providing the user with clear comprehensive information in the event of a fire, Vigilon additionally provides an entire historic log of the system’s management information. Should a system fault occur a detailed explanation is shown and the user can at any time navigate through the faults history.
The Gent Vigilon Control Panel
Gent by Honeywell’s Vigilon system is the most comprehensive life safety system available in the market today. The combination of the powerful software in the control panel and the intelligent loop powered devices delivers a flexible, easy to use system for all types of buildings.
The Vigilon system offers a complete range of control panels that can be installed as standalone panels from 1 to 6 loops or as part of multi-panel networks. A system that can meet the needs of a building today and in the future.
S Quad Detection
The S-Quad range of multifunction devices includes sensors with sounder, speech and EN54-23 certified visual alarms. This allows the maximum flexibility for designers providing cover for a building. The advanced sensing technology is enhanced with a device that can alert building occupants with a highly visible visual alarm and a recorded voice message to ensure all occupants are alerted to an emergency.
Innovative design has allowed the LED visual alarm to be built into the centre of the sensor with the sounder and speech circuits inside providing a neat and aesthetic solution to multi function devices.
The visual alarm and voice messages are synchronised across each control panel ensuring a clear unambiguous message to building occupiers.
S-Quad leads the industry in fire sensing technology. A complete range of devices sensors with a unique combination of sensing elements to provide quick, intelligent fire decisions.
The innovative S-Quad multi-sensor is capable of detecting the products of combustion such as heat, smoke and carbon monoxide. Smoke detection is enhanced using patented dual optical scatter technology. This allows it to be configured to filter specific risks such as steam and dust, resulting in significantly reduced false alarms.
S-Quad’s inherent flexibility means it can be programmed to suit specific site applications. Different sensitivity states are set to incorporate combinations of optical, dual optical, heat and CO sensing elements. States can be selected depending on the different conditions in a room or a time period when interference may be more likely.
