Cineworld
Ifax Based Systems By Leader
Cineworld Group plc was founded in 1995 and is now one of the leading cinema groups in Europe with 79 cinemas and counting in the UK.
2014 will have seen new cinemas opening in Wembley, Telford and Gloucester Quays and with at least 5 more due to open in 2015 this will be a busy time.
Leader Systems installed an Ifax based fire alarm system into the very first Cineworld at Stevenage back in 1996 and has been fortunate enough to install them in all but one of their new cinemas ever since.
The panel was chosen because its windows based software configuration was the only one of its type that could happily accommodate the number of output units required to interface with 3rd party equipment and provide enough panel based sounder outputs to evacuate a building with in excess of 20 alarm (evacuation) zones.
Whilst many other panels have now caught up with similar windows based configuration tools the Leader Ifax panel is still one of the most powerful available and that is why its still being used on Cineworld projects (albeit in its latest format).
This isn’t just for the software routines it can support but also because it’s the only panel available on the market that can support 1 amp worth of alarm load on each loop.
With the recent introduction of power hungry EN54 Part 23 approved VAD’s panels with this sort of power are going to be an ever more important option to have available.
Ifax panels can be configured from 2 to 8 loops within a standard enclosure and all come complete with 5 amp PSU a repeater driver and a quad alarm cards. Larger panels can be configured in multiple enclosures.
